Sustainability - Doing More With Less

As part of our work towards being more sustainable, we constructed two sets of compost bins last year in McDonagh Crescent and St Stephen's Cemetery.

2025

1 & 2) Leaf mulch delivered by the Borough Council, Oct 2024. 3) Wild Garlic on our compost in St Stephen's Cemetery, April 2025.

The compost bins at both McDonagh Crescent and St Stephens Cemetery have been a great asset in helping us manage both sites. In Autumn the Borough Council regularly delivers leaf materials and plant matter that we use to help layer the bins. The three trees that were cut down in St Stephens also provide excellent mulch material to be added to the bins.

2024

In the next couple of years these will go a long way to replacing purchased compost. Both sets of compost bins were built using palettes that we reclaimed and upcycled. Along with leaves from both sites, the Ground Staff of Clonmel Borough Council brought us bark and plant material.
